On January 4th 2019 Public Act 247 became law. This
is the law that requires a ‘Bona Fide relationship’ between a prescriber and a
patient. One of the rules in this law promulgated by the Michigan Board of
Pharmacy includes mandatory “Controlled Substance Awareness Training”. The rule
of the law specifies what content must be covered and this training applies to
all those who prescribe or administer controlled substances.

Many have inquired where to get this training.
As a service to faculty, the Office of Continuing Medical
Education and Lifelong Learning has worked with the ReWrite the Script team to
develop the Controlled Substance Awareness Training
In addition to fulfilling the State mandated training, this is
also available for 0.75 CME in pain management.
At the conclusion of the video, please complete the evaluation
to claim CME and obtain your certificate documenting that you have completed
the Controlled Substance Awareness training.
